Er verpflichtete sich nach dem Präsenzdienst freiwillig für ein weiteres Jahr beim Bundesheer. Durch die begrenzte Weiterbildung quittierte er den Dienst beim Bundesheer und übte seinen erlernten Beruf aus. Währenddessen besuchte er auch die Abendschule für die Fachrichtung Maschinenbau. Im Juni 1990 legte er die Matura ab. Seit 15 Jahren unterrichtet er nun an der Berufsschule, an der er auch die Vielfalt der menschlichen Charakter erkennen kann und es ihm immer noch Freude bereitet, die Jugendlichen zu unterrichten, um sie auf das Leben vorzubereiten. Aus der Bewegung und der Natur schöpft er immer wieder neue Kraft, um die Hürden des Lebens zu meistern.
