Every since the terrorist attack of September 11th, the words "war on terror" have become firmly embedded in the global consciousness. Do we fall victim to bitterness and fear; or do we respond the way Jesus would respond in sacrificial love? These are the questions everyone must answer. As we look at news reports, terrorist attacks are only getting worse. This book gives the heart wrenching story of Lisa Gibson's loss of her brother in the 1988 terrorist bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland and how her faith has allowed her to overcome that act of evil for good by serving in the country responsible. This book offers hope and encouragement for those struggling with fear and inspires faith to propel everyone to engage in this strategic battle. "This is a remarkable story of one woman's struggle with tragedy and her care for those who many would say are her enemies." Congressman Joseph R. Pitts "To reflectively read this book is to go farther in coming to terms with what God truly wants to see in Christians loving their enemies. Gibson takes it from religious poetry to teeth gritting reality. How I yearn that every Western Christian who is repulsed by Muslim terrorism would follow in her steps." Dr. Greg Livingstone Founder of Frontiers Lisa Gibson is the Founder and Executive Director of the Peace and Prosperity Alliance. She is an attorney and has served in senior leadership positions with advocacy and global missions organizations. Lisa has a unique voice on global terrorism having lost her brother on the 1988 terrorist bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. She has seen the power and restoration that comes from seeing true justice, forgiveness and reconciliation in cases such as these.

The energy devoted by the ancient Egyptians to their tombs is legendary. The pyramids of Gizeh and the tomb of Tutankhamun are just two very spectacular examples, but no previous book has sought to use the tens of thousands of tombs excavated in Egypt, dating from 5000 BC to AD 200, across all classes of society, to build up a broad picture of burial as practised across the millennia. In this fascinating treatment, Wolfram Grajetzki sets out to remove some widespread misconceptions. Many imagine that few tombs survived undisturbed into modern times, but this is simply not true. In addition to the richest finds, there are numerous other tombs, devoid of gold and precious objects, which are key sources for reconstructing burial customs and Eygptian culture as a whole. This book sets the record straight, presenting evidence from each of the periods covered of poorer and average graves alongside the more famous wealthy tombs. The book is accessbily written and richly illustrated with over 150 illustrations, many specially prepared by the author.

Memories and scars are the signs of a life well lived, and more often than not our milestones are similar: love, a first home, marriage, and a child. The same goes for Marty and Suzanne Dempsey, but happy memories and years of a life built together weren't enough to help their relationship survive the terminal diagnosis of their only child, Abigail. Coping in their own ways, Marty and Suzanne drift apart and eventually divorce after one finds comfort in the arms of a stranger. The expected and devastating death of their daughter had seemingly severed any ties that remained between them, but an insightful letter from Abigail gives Marty the one thing that seemed so elusive before: Hope.

Bruce Blair was born into a South Dakota farming family experiencing the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression, locust plagues, and storms that stole the harvests on which the family depended. After marriage and the loss of a newborn son, another son, Larry, was found to have a life-threatening heart defect. Out of this dark time came a searching for life’s meaning and spiritual rebirth. From then till now, miracles followed Bruce and his family. God spared Larry’s life from drowning and later provided a bumper harvest to pay for an expensive operation. God protected him financially when his loaned, uninsured farm truck collided with a car. Bruce himself was buried alive when a pipe ditch collapsed. God directed the rescue of a friend from financial ruin leading him to a life of ministry. His story of a barren cow and a foreign mission is an amazing proof that God exists. In his eighties a serious fall down a flight of stairs brought an unexpected and miraculous outcome. In Life—in Death—He Leads reveals the unsearchable riches of Christ that are available on one’s journey through life. Biblical references, mostly from the King James Version of the Bible, and Christian living principles are cited.
